Retail General Manager
A dynamic retail apparel store in Raleigh, NC, is seeking a passionate and experienced Retail General Manager to lead and oversee the store's operations. This full-time, onsite role offers a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, and profit-sharing opportunities.
The General Manager will be responsible for driving sales, managing staff, overseeing inventory, and delivering exceptional customer experiences. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, operational expertise, and a commitment to achieving sales goals while upholding the store’s brand standards.

Key Responsibilities
Staff Leadership and Development
- Recruit, onboard, train, and motivate new team members.
- Create and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage.
- Provide regular coaching, performance evaluations, and support for professional growth.
- Address employee concerns and manage disciplinary actions as needed.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-performing team environment.
Sales and Store Operations
- Monitor and analyze sales performance to identify opportunities and trends.
- Set and achieve sales goals aligned with company objectives.
- Manage inventory, ensuring proper stock levels and effective rotation.
- Implement and support in-store marketing and promotional strategies.
- Maintain store cleanliness and uphold visual merchandising standards.
Customer Experience
- Train staff to provide outstanding customer service.
- Monitor customer interactions to ensure satisfaction and retention.
- Resolve customer inquiries and complaints promptly and professionally.
Administrative and Compliance Duties
- Oversee merchandise returns and ensure accurate cash handling.
- Reconcile the cash drawer and prepare daily reports.
- Uphold company policies, procedures, and compliance with local regulations.
- Ensure adherence to safety and health standards.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of two years in a management role within a retail environment. Previous experience as a sales associate or similar role is required.
- Retail Expertise: In-depth knowledge of retail operations, including inventory management, pricing strategies, visual merchandising, and consumer behavior.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to motivate and inspire a team, communicate expectations effectively, and foster a collaborative environment.
- Organizational Skills: Strong ability to prioritize, manage multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Customer Service: Commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences and resolving issues with professionalism.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work retail hours, including holidays, nights, and weekends during peak seasons.
- Analytical Ability: Basic math and analytical skills to interpret sales data and make informed business decisions.
